We're on the lookout for a Marine Service Technician to join our Richmond, BC-based team. If you're passionate about electronics, thrive in dynamic environments, and want to work with cutting-edge navigation systems aboard vessels around the world - this is your opportunity.
What You'll Do:
- Install, troubleshoot, and test advanced marine systems - including radar, steering, and control systems - aboard ships and onshore.
- Lead shipboard installations and support sea trials to ensure optimal performance.
- Deliver hands-on training to crews and build strong customer relationships.
- Represent Sperry Marine with pride, promoting our products and services globally.
- Anti-social hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Overnight stays - sometimes at short notice - depending on vessel schedules and service needs.
- Offshore travel, including launch services up to 100 miles out and boarding via Jacob's ladder.
- Working at heights (up to 60 feet) or in confined spaces, and exposure to varying weather conditions.
A proactive problem solver with a can-do attitude and a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service to our clients, known for reliability, adaptability, and professionalism.
- Diploma, degree, or equivalent experience in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related technical field - or willingness to train in marine systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to learn and assist in troubleshooting marine electronic systems (including PCB-level diagnostics)
- Basic understanding of technical schematics and blueprints - with training support available
- Physically able to lift 20-25 kg, work at heights, and in confined spaces
- Comfortable working aboard ships, offshore platforms, and in varied weather conditions
- Willing to travel (approx. 30%), work weekends, and respond to short-notice assignments
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
