Job Description

We're looking for a Marine Superintendent to join the marine team on the Alkimos Desalinisation project. The marine works consist of:
  • Installation of 200t Precast Intake Structures to support supply of seawater to new plant
  • Installation of 2m Diameter x 140m long HDPE outfall diffuser pipeline
  • Plan, control and oversee offshore piling, drilling and grouting operations
  • Plan and control complex offshore logistics and marine operations with all works conducted from a 1000t Jack up Barge with a 400t offshore Pedestal crane
  • Plan and oversee Complex temporary works system and diving operations to support installation process
The Project
The project includes the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant with first production in 2028. Works include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage and pump system, supported by civil, electrical and bulk earthworks.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage work contracts to ensure timely completion, adherence to specifications, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Procure necessary permits and licenses for projects.
  • Develop budget estimates and oversee budgetary constraints.
  • Plan and set out project phases, supervising subcontractors' tasks, subordinate staff, or workers.
  • Verify the progress achieved and the quality of the work during all phases of the project.
  • Represent the company in relevant matters and serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
  • Ensure all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied.
  • Competent in planning and organizing work schedules.
  • Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of the same.
  • Ability to issue clear directions to construction workers.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills in managing groups of diverse employees.
Required Skills and Competencies

  • Trades qualifications relevant to the construction, building or manufacturing industries.
  • Experience working on marine projects.
  • Preferable 5 years' experience in a construction/engineering environment and having previously held a position of Foreman/Supervisor.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively with others.
  • Self-confident and able to persuade, convince, or impress others to gain their commitment and cooperation to a course of action.
