Marine Surveyor

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Marine Surveyor to join our team! In this role you will get to work on a construction supervision team responsible to supervise a dredging, reclamation, and ground improvement contractor on a high profile project in Abu Dhabi.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Responsible to carry out the marine field surveys in tandem with a team, and dredging/reclamation contractor.
  • Responsible to conduct field operations/surveys on land and on marine vessels.
  • Responsible to witness contractor performing surveys, logging the information and verifying the installed quantities in coordination with the contractor, employer and quantity surveyors on the team.
  • Responsible to identify the client's priority zones on the critical path and update progress reports daily. Must maintain Daily Log of all Activities.
  • Troubleshoot challenges with the Contractor and other Consultants in order to achieve measurable success.
  • Liaise with other agencies (Consultants/Contractors/ Relevant Authorities) to coordinate the survey work.
  • Prepare neat sketches to support the field work.
  • Preserve all the survey information (field books, sketches & calculations).
  • Complete all surveying assignments on schedule and within man-hour and cost budgets.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Hydrographic Surveying / Field Surveying / Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of related work experience in a Marine Engineering/Construction environment in the MENA Region.
  • Ability to communicate in English with a high proficiency both written and spoken.
  • Prior Experience on a Construction Supervision Consultant Team or Project Management Consultant Team.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Civil3D, AutoCAD, GPS and Office 365.
