Job Description

DNV is seeking an Experience Master Mariner / Senior Surveyor to join our Noble Denton marine services team in Mexico. As a Master Mariner / Senior Surveyor, you will leverage your extensive maritime expertise to conduct comprehensive surveys and inspections of marine vessels and offshore installations.

This role requires a deep understanding of maritime regulations, safety standards, and technical assessments to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with clients, providing expert advice and solutions while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. Ideal candidates will possess significant sea-going experience, relevant certifications, and a proven track record in marine surveying within the industry.

This role will report to the Operation Manager and be based in our DNV office in Carmen, Campeche, Mexico, presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site.

What You'll Do
  • Provide marine support to clients and internal staff across all areas of marine operations.
  • Review technical reports, procedures, and marine documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Serve as a Marine Warranty Surveyor during offshore projects, attending offshore activities and inspections.
  • Conduct vessel surveys and Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) suitability inspections.
  • Witness and document Dynamic Positioning (DP) trials, producing detailed DP trial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable marine regulations and standards.
  • Develop and implement Noble Denton Marine Services (NDms) plans in Mexico.
  • Maintain accurate records of survey activities for auditing and future reference.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with project teams to align marine services with project timelines and key milestones.
  • Offer technical expertise and guidance to clients regarding compliance and best practices.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports that detail marine services activities, findings, and recommendations.
  • Identify new opportunities within the marine services market.
  • Act as Bid Manager for upcoming opportunities and Project Manager for simple and recurring projects.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required.

Qualifications

What is Required

Education:
  • Master Mariner Certification
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Travel required: 20%
  • Certified Master Mariner with sea-going experience as a Master or Chief Officer, preferably in the offshore oil, gas, and/or renewable energy sectors, with DP vessel experience.
  • Expertise in heavy lift, DP operations, anchor handling, rig moving, towage, or supply operations.
  • Familiarity with Marine Warranty operations and regulatory marine requirements, including industry standards, practices, guidelines, and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality technical reports and documentation.
