Job Description
DNV is seeking a Senior Surveyor to join our Trinidad and Tobago Station within the Maritime Region Americas. In this role, you will be part of a highly skilled team responsible for delivering high-quality survey and auditing services to the traditional shipping segments operating in the Caribbean regions. You will work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure compliance with maritime standards and contribute to global shipping operations' safety, integrity, and sustainability. This role will be based out of our Port Spain office in Trinidad and Tobago. Relocation assistance will be offered.

What You'll Do
- Ensure that the work or duties performed are in accordance with the organization's Rules, Regulations, Instructions, Guidelines, and quality requirements and the instructions of line management
- Always uphold the confidentiality of clients' business information, processes, designs, developments, and documentation
- When applicable, supervise the work of others, ensuring it is conducted efficiently, economically, and in compliance with established standards
- Promptly inform line management upon receiving any information that could impact the organization's reputation or integrity
- Exhibit customer-oriented focus by promoting DNV onboard or on-site and acting as a technical resource for customer questions

Qualifications
What Is Required
- Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related technical field. A University degree is preferred, but a technical degree or equivalent experience will also be considered
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the maritime or marine surveying industry
- Qualifications as a class and statutory surveyor
- Strong team player who can work independently during surveys and inspections
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the year, primarily to Latin America and the Caribbean (approximately 65% of travel time)
- Ability to obtain a visa and passport
- Ability to perform physical tasks required by the role, including climbing pilot ladders and tanks, flying in helicopters, participating in crew boat launches and voyage surveys, and accessing confined spaces
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- A positive, proactive attitude, with the ability to adapt to varying work schedules, including weekends and night shifts as required
- We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening
