Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Marine Technician to join our team in the Maldives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine engineering, maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring the safety, performance, and efficiency of our fleet of vessels. You will be responsible for the installation, inspection, and repair of various marine equipment, engines, and systems, contributing to the smooth operations of our marine services.
- As a Marine Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the vessels and supporting the company's mission to deliver safe and reliable maritime operations.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on marine engines, equipment, and systems.
- Install, test, and commission new marine equipment and technologies.
- Conduct inspections and diagnostics to identify faults or potential issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations on all vessel systems.
- Assist in the preparation and servicing of vessels for voyages, including ensuring all machinery and equipment are in optimal condition.
- Collaborate with other technicians and team members to complete tasks efficiently.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and reports.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
- Support the development and improvement of maintenance schedules and practices.
- Ensure that vessels comply with operational standards and regulations.
- Provide technical support for vessel crews and onboard systems.
- Proven experience as a Marine Technician, Marine Engineer, or a similar role, ideally in the Maldives or similar maritime environments.
- Strong knowledge of marine engines (inboard and outboard), electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and general marine machinery.
- Experience with troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of various marine equipment.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices regarding vessel operations and safety.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid marine technician or engineer certification or related qualifications.
- Basic understanding of environmental management practices in marine operations.
- Ability to work in remote locations and under varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
- Knowledge of the latest trends and technologies in marine operations is an advantage.
