The position has been established for supporting the Survey Team and Operations Division. The Surveying Engineer will assist, support and participate in the project preparation and engineering phase as well as in the project execution of offshore projects in terms of survey, pre- and post-survey data processing as well as as-build documentation. The successful candidate shall liaise mainly with the Project Engineer, the Offshore Managers, the Marine Superintendent and the Technical Director in order to monitor marine environments during all phases of projects: project preparation, project execution and when commissioning the project, to produce reports and prepare digital drawings and final documentation. The candidate will also have frequent communication with clients in order to obtain relevant information for the projects or to provide feedback regarding the projects and the progress of works.

- Assists in the review and check of completeness of GIS Data (Digital terrain models, Shapefiles, Electronic Drawings etc)
- Assists in the verification of the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at the project area (topographic surveys, staking out points etc)
- Processes and performs quality control of the survey data (MBES, SSS, TSS, etc.)
- Assists in the preparation of the project survey database
- Assists in preparation of project execution documentation, maps, drawings, etc.
- Assists in the project mobilization phase in terms of survey equipment, navigation and positing system (NaviPac) set-up
- Travels in the line of duty to monitor the offshore projects in the area of execution (domestically or abroad)
- Assists in survey equipment calibration and verification operations, which include:
- Side Scan SonarsOnline MBE/TSS data acquisition
- Performs daily TSS, MBES data processing onboard, including evaluating accuracy and sufficiency
- Prepares preliminary as-build/as-laid/as-buried drawings, charts for submission to the client
- Updates Project DTM and vessel's navigation and positioning system
- Prepares final documentation of the projects:
- Records and documents related to surveys
- Regularly traveling to employer sites (domestically and globally) as required to implement onshore or offshore projects
- Bachelor and/or MSc degree in Survey Engineering or similar engineering field
- 1-3 years' experience as a Surveying Engineer
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office required
- Proficient user of AutoCad 2D and 3D
- Good knowledge of Microstation/ArcGIS/Global Mapper/QGIS or equivalent GIS software
- Good knowledge of conventional and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) surveying principles and processing
- Strong computer skills and ability to adapt quickly to new software packages
- Understanding oceanographic principles, including tides, currents, and acoustic properties is to be considered as extra skills
- Prior use of EIVA NaviPac/NaviModel/NaviEdit/NaviScan or QINSY or other relevant data collection & postprocessing software is to be considered as extra skills
- Clear and effective oral and written communication skills in English language
- Previous experience in establishing and operating of RTK GPS (Rover & Base Station Installation) receivers/MBES Systems/Side Scan SonarSystems/TSS Systems is to be considered as extra skills
- Prior experience/knowledge with Network setup will be considered an asset.
- A basic understanding of electricals and electronics principles with practical skills are advantageous.
