Main purpose of the position
A Trouble Shooter Technician is the third level in the career path for Wind Turbine Technicians.
You have completed and passed the relevant platform training either at the turbine provider or via the Vattenfall Mentor/Buddy agreement - competence Logbook.
The Trouble Shooter Technician is a high performer, competent and accredited Service technician who has moved to the next level. The Trouble Shooter Technician provides safety supervision and technical guidance to less qualified technicians.
You are competent and capable of executing scheduled service and maintenance without supervision at a consistent high level of efficiency and quality.
You are a competent trouble shooter with experience in the most common faults and rectifications. You do maintenance and error solving and assume responsibility of resolving the tasks. You can lead and instruct a team (if applicable). Your knowledge of the WTG will give you the ability to assist with planning.
Focus is on maintaining high availability on WTG's, in cooperation with internal staff and external contractors. High focus on HSE.
You have been authorised under the SSoW as an Competent Technician (CT), Authorised Technician (AT) and hold live testing/trouble shooting nomination.

Key responsibilities and mandate:
- Perform unscheduled maintenance and troubleshooting on the asset
- Carry out scheduled maintenance on site; WTG, foundation, SCADA, cranes etc. and Offshore platforms (if applicable)
- Ensure safety and that HSE policies are part of the daily work on site
- Develop advanced troubleshooting knowledge and skill on site/s
- Give input and assist Operations Manager in the identification of future Trouble shooter
- Deliver technical training to other technicians in your specialist field
- Work with special projects, (if applicable)
- Give input to daily planning of fault-finding tasks
- Apply lessons learnt and support the Data Driven concept
- Maintain an awareness of common, reoccurring and major component faults and report these in the ticket system
- Support creation of task lists under the guidance of Associated Technical Expert - HV/WTG
- Perform turbine restarts and take turbine under control during SOV operations, (if applicable)
- Assist in major component replacements, retrofits, troubleshooting tasks and other special assignments
- Conduct quality audits on internal and external technicians to ensure compliance with Vattenfall standards (if applicable)
- Support warehouse, preparing spare parts, tools and other equipment for all elements of maintenance and troubleshooting work e.g., during weather day
- Ensure the validity of own safety certificates; GWO Standard Basic Training (BST), Offshore Medical Certificate etc. and other safety trainings
- Responsible for the condition of own safety equipment; life vest, helmet, fall harness etc. and the supplied equipment always is ready to use, carry out inspection of own safety equipment before use
- Utilise software systems to accurately record all elements of your daily work including hours worked, vacation, sickness etc. spare parts used, and technical work orders report
- Act as appointed person and trainer under SSoW Safe System of Work to sign off on the development of individuals
- Authorised under the SSoW as an Competent Technician (CT)
- Authorised under the SSoW as an Authorized Technician (AT)
- Nominated for life tasting/trouble shooting
- Authorised under WTSR as an , PCEI, PCWA , Skilled person and switching assistant (if applicable)
- Profession as e.g., mechanic, electrician or similar
- Experience from the wind business or other power generation preferred
- Experienced in service, repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical machinery
- Capable of transferring technical knowledge to others
- Good communication, Leadership and cooperation skills
- Relevant work experience and ideally AT under WTSR
- IT competent
- Safety focused
- Knowledge of SCADA, electrical systems and specialist tooling
