The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for one (1) Research Engineer position in the area of coastal engineering. The candidate is expected to work in investigating the AI tracking of coastal structures with novel sensing and monitoring, environmental modelling, and environmental impact assessment. Other topics can include:
• Experimental measurements and numerical simulations to train and validate the AI tracking algorithms
• Life cycle analysis to identify benefits of the AI tracking
• Field experiments in the coastal environment to collect good quality data
• Organisation of international meetings and forums (prior experience preferred)
Job Requirements
• Possess at least a bachelor's degree in related areas with emphasis on AI-driven image recognition, environmental data analysis, experimental testing in the field and laboratory, hydrodynamic modelling, or relevant topics. Having a master's degree in civil engineering is preferred.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Open to fixed-term contract.
