Job Description
The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for one (1) Research Fellow position in the area of Coastal Engineering. The candidate is expected to work in investigating multi-phase hydrodynamic interactions, and turbulence modelling with Large Eddy Simulations involving engineering applications in both atmospheric and coastal water environments.
The scope can also include:
• Investigating turbulence dynamics and coherent flow structures induced by extensive marine infrastructure coverage.
• Experimental measurements and corresponding numerical simulations using advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technique of Large Eddy Simulations.
• Assessment of structural stability and environmental impacts associated with coastal protection measures.
• Develop custom software for data integration and visualization of simulation outputs.
• Conduct field experiments in the coastal environment to collect good quality data.
Job Requirements
• Applicants should have a PhD in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Preferably with a few years of relevant experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling with Large Eddy Simulations involving engineering applications in both atmospheric and coastal water environments.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Open to fixed-term contract.
