The County Councils Flood Risk Management Team are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible and innovative, individual having at least one year's experience of working in a drainage or highways environment dealing with technical information.
You must have a high level of personal drive and commitment to excellent customer care, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to solve problems and meet targets.
You will play a key role in a team responsible for managing flood risk across communities in Nottinghamshire. You will investigate drainage and flooding problems, undertake land drainage consents and inspect and gather information on watercourses. This will involve coordinating, imputing, processing and reporting of a variety of different data sources. You should be able to work on own initiative, to meet objectives with a willingness to broaden own knowledge, skills and experience.
In return for your commitment, we offer a range of benefits including personal development opportunities, employee discount benefits scheme, work/life balance policies and practices, generous pension scheme, 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a strong supportive management team and the opportunity to work in a friendly inclusive environment.
This is an opportunity to make a real difference, working with Nottinghamshire communities. We do not expect candidates to meet every single desired qualification, if your experience looks a little different and you think you can bring value to the role, we would like to learn more about you.
Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.
Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
