We are looking for an experienced coastal engineer, who as a senior or leading specialist will be working on delivering the best solutions to a broad perspective of clients, who will join our team of more than 15 people working alongside our customers on some of Denmarks and Scandianvias most significant projects. By having hydraulic, structural and geotechnical engineers working side by side we are consistently bringing cross-discipline thinking and strong teamwork to every project. And we are proud to have contributed to projects like Lynetteholmen artificial island, climate resilient coastline in Dragør and energy islands. As our new specialist in coastal enginering, you are going to work closely with a team of experts and will report to the Head of Discipline.

Your key tasks will be:
  • Acting as Senior Specialist for coastal and offshore tasks in projects, working closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes that meet their needs and align with our sustainability goals.
  • Design using innovative coastal engineering methods to address problems related to marine structures and climate change.
  • Delivering professional skills to projects and to customers.
  • Knowledge in conducting numerical modelling tasks for waves, water levels, currents, sediment transport, etc. using the advanced hydraulic modelling software package MIKE 21 and MIKE 3.
  • Designing marine structures for hydraulic loads such as waves, currents and ice.
  • Designing coastal protection like revetments, scour protection and coastal management like beach nourishment.
  • Participate in physical model testing with universities and external parties on scale modeling of rubble mound breakwaters, caissons and other port structures.
  • Managing met-ocean analysis of waves, currents and water levels to establish design conditions for both coastal and offshore projects.
  • Preparation of technical documents (reports, drawings, specifications)
  • Engaging and interacting with other team members in a multi-disciplinary team and provide leadership and guidance to team members and contribute to the development of their technical capabilities.
  • Engage with technical networks to facilitate the development of innovative approaches, as well as new methods and workflows that integrate the latest technology and best practices.
Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future
The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways, but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve. To succeed in this position, we believe that you are adept at organizing tasks and have comprehensive technical knowledge within coastal engineering, business understanding and the ability to work across disciplines. You thrive in a complex environment by maintaining close costumer and employee relations. Along with that, you are good in developing practical solutions. You are motivated by developing others' qualifications and can see the potential in your colleagues.

On top of that, you will have:
  • M.Sc. in Coastal or Marine engineering with 8-15 years of relevant consultancy experience.
  • Significant experience in developing and designing coastal projects during all project phases, from conceptual design to detailed design, for contractors or as client's consultant.
  • Extensive technical knowledge within coastal engineering and design of coastal structures.
  • Good insight in marine and coastal construction methods and contractor's capabilities and restrictions.
  • A focus on sustainability and knowledge about building with nature.
  • Domestic and Scandinavian marine / coastal market awareness is beneficial.
  • Fluency in Danish or one of the other Scandinavian languages and communication skills in English (verbal and written).
