We are seeking Civil or Environmental Engineers for the following; <ul><li>Assisting the team in planning &amp; design works for civil engineering Projects (e.g. land reclamation, port construction and other coastal structures) for local and/or overseas</li><li>Assisting the Executive Engineer / Design Manager to carry out:<ul><li>plan for site investigation and results interpretation,</li><li>C&amp;S, environmental and geotechnical design and analysis for coastal structures such as quay wall, port, jetty, revetment and land reclamation (i.e: deep and shallow foundation, temporary and permanent retaining system, soil improvement, instrumentation, etc)</li><li>managing subcontracts (i.e: soil investigation contract, Accredited Checker contract, biodiversity contract etc)</li><li>managing main contracts</li><li>Supervising both design and/or site work</li></ul></li><li>Ensuring all engineering works comply with all relevant statutory standards, regulations and Codes of Practice</li><li>Engaging and manage stakeholders, such as clients, design team, site team and other relevant parties</li><li>Supporting on pursuit projects: assist in tender submissions</li><li>Assist in other Coastal department activities i.e: beach clean-up, sports day, etc</li></ul>You will have/be: <ul><li>Bachelor Degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering recognised by BCA/IES/ACES and from reputable university</li><li>Fresh graduates who wish to develop a career within coastal engineering are welcome to apply</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English</li><li>Team player with the ability to multi-task</li><li>Disciplined, self-motivated and resourceful to achieve goals</li><li>Relevant experience in large-scale infrastructure and/or reclamation projects will be well regarded (up to 5 years)</li><li>Exposure to contract administration will be advantageous</li><li>Well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite of Software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc)</li><li>Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plaxis etc will be advantageous</li></ul>How to apply All applications must be submitted online. Engineers (Coastal Engineering)

Environmental / Coastal Scientist RPS is looking for an Environmental / Coastal Scientist to join our dynamic Coastal Process team as part of the Water Environment team in Belfast. You'll be working on a range of coast/marine environment and engineering projects across Ireland and the UK. In this role, you will provide essential support to the coastal team in preparing technical reports and environmental impact assessments, with a particular focus on supporting our extensive work in the fast-growing offshore renewable energy sector and the consenting of marine infrastructure projects. The role will involve drafting high-quality technical reports and Environmental Statement chapters with the potential to develop coastal modelling skills from industry experts. What you'll be doing <ul><li>Writing technical reports and EIA chapters</li><li>Reviewing and post-processing of numerical and/or spatial data including survey information and modelling results</li><li>Producing high-quality maps and analysing data in GIS</li><li>Working effectively as part of a team and with other professionals (environmental, scientists and engineers).</li></ul>Who we're looking for <ul><li>Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area (civil engineering, marine science, oceanography or environmental science).</li><li> Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Have excellent report writing skills.Have strong analytical skills to methodically record, analyse and interpret data.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office</li><li>Ability to work independently under the direction of senior staff</li></ul>Desirable criteria: <ul><li>Demonstrable experience in the numerical modelling of coastal processes such as tides, waves and/or sediment transport.</li><li>Experience in the water environment or offshore energy sector</li><li>Relevant professional qualifications (chartered or near chartered professional)</li><li>Understanding of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and relevant regulations and guidance.</li><li>Experience using AutoCAD.</li><li>Experience using ArcGIS.</li><li>Experience in coding in Matlab or Python</li></ul>You will have the choice of work flexibility, with agile offices and hybrid working offered as standard.
