Naval Architect Engineer

Overview We have a number of exciting on-going projects with clients across both commercial &amp; naval marine domains and are seeking to expand our existing Naval Architecture capability. As a Senior Naval Architect every day at Expleo will be out of the ordinary and will require you to be dynamic and responsive to changes in technology, innovation, and client requirements. Hydrostatic, seakeeping &amp; stability analysis. b. Propulsion, resistance, and powering requirements. c. Hydrodynamic &amp; manoeuvring analysis. d. Marine structure design &amp; analysis. e. Responsibilities: <ul><li>Prepare technical specifications for tender, equipment and material procurement and perform technical evaluation of vendor's bid</li></ul><ul><li>Perform ship strength calculations and perform ship structural design</li><li>Perform prediction and assessment of shipboard vibration and cabin noise, underwater radiated noise</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare and review arrangement / structural drawings, and Bill of Material for Approval, Working and As-Built.</li><li>Assist in the development of new designs and design concepts.</li><li>Perform naval architectural design/calculations (Hull form and general arrangement design, Hydrodynamic or stability calculations)</li><li>Layout design - fire, safety, watertight integrity, escapes, accommodation in accordance with building specification, class/statutory rules</li><li>Manage and check calculation/ design of external design consultants.</li><li>Manage and check technical information of external suppliers of equipment and systems and coordinate/cooperate with engineers from other trades in the organization.</li><li>To check drawings/documents and material list and ensure that they conform to contractual technical specifications, installation control documents, Classification and Statutory Rules/Regulations.</li><li>Liaise with shipowners and surveyors.</li><li>To ensure equipment specification, installation control document and interface design specification are properly maintained, disseminated and use for preparation of design activities.</li><li>Participate in tests and trials, where required.</li><li>To advise supervisors on work progress/status and shortcomings on technical issues on project under his charge.</li><li>Keep abreast with Classifications Rules, military and industrial standards relevant to design activities.</li></ul>Requirements: <ul><li>Degree in Naval Architecture/ Marine Engineering or Structural Engineering</li><li>At least 1-2 years' experience in engineering design in Marine/Offshore/Oil &amp; Gas industry.</li><li>Good knowledge of international design codes, Classification/Statutory Rules and Regulations.</li><li>Good knowledge on Naval Architecture / Structural Design</li><li>Knowledge of Vibration and Noise Analysis will be advantageous</li><li>Proficiency in AutoCAD, Aveva Marine or related 3D CAD software knowledge are required.</li><li>Experience in VAOne, NAPA, CFD software knowledge will be an advantage.</li></ul>Other Information: <ul><li>Location: Benoi Road (Island-wide transport provided)</li><li>5 days work week</li><li>Working Hours: 7.25am-5pm</li></ul>
